The DSST allows you to earn college credit without taking the corresponding courses. These tests are intended for active-duty military and their spouses, military veterans, homeschooled students, and adult learners who want to earn college credit in a shorter amount of time.
More than 1,900 institutions grant college credits for high performances on the DSST, and you can take more than 30 of these exams at the Testing Center. Tests cover college subject areas such as social sciences, math, applied technology, business, and humanities.
Before you take the DSST, check with your counselor to be sure it fits into your curriculum. View the DSST study guides and be prepared to finish the test within two hours. You also can review how many credit hours you'll earn by taking the DSST.
