Take an Exam for an IUPUI Class

Take exams outside the classroom

Some instructors require students to take proctored course exams. A proctored exam is taken outside the classroom, but is administered and supervised by testing center staff. We offer four computer labs for students taking exams for specific courses at IUPUI and IU Online courses.

Course exams are offered in the basement of the Engineering Science and Technology Building (SL070).

For parking information, please refer to the IUPUI Parking Operations page.

Students needing Duo (2 factor authentication) access for SL070 testing should read this information from the IU Knowledge Base. The tester should have the Duo mobile application downloaded onto their phone or have a Duo token.

The Center for Teaching and Learning provides many resources for faculty wanting to create online assessments.  Go to the CTL site for additional information concerning the integration of technology into your teaching and classroom assessments.

For instructors: schedule a classroom testing session

Faculty and instructors should contact cltest@iupui.edu to receive additional information about the classroom assessment option for testing. The default testing software for SL070 is CANVAS.

Instructors wishing to use software, other than CANVAS, must contact Kent Stoelting (cltest@iupui.edu) before the 2nd week of classes for the current semester. The Testing Center will notify the instructor if the request is accepted and compatible with other programs used within the SL070 lab.

Tests, with extensive graphics/pictures, should format their pictures as .png extensions.

Faculty/Instructors are strongly encouraged to test their exams in the SL070 environment prior to opening the exams to students. Certain graphics may not be compatible with the lockdown browser utilized in the labs.
