Take exams outside the classroom

Some instructors require students to take proctored course exams. A proctored exam is taken outside the classroom, but is administered and supervised by testing center staff. We offer three computer labs for students taking exams for specific courses at IUPUI.

Course exams are offered in the basement of the Engineering Science and Technology Building (SL070).

For instructors: schedule a classroom testing session

We can accommodate up to 122 students for a classroom testing session. Instructors can schedule a computer based classroom test during these times:

Fall and Spring semesters

  • Monday 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.
  • Tuesday 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.
  • Wednesday 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.
  • Thursday 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.
  • Friday 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
  • Saturday 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.

January 17, 2017 - March 11, 2017: Open
March 12, 2017 - March 19, 2017: Closed for Spring Break
March 20, 2017 - May 27, 2017: Open

June 23, 2017 - June 25, 2017: Closed

Rules for using this lab

  • You must have an active JagTag to take a test.
  • Leave all books, bags, notes, hats, and other personal belongings in the hallway lockers.
  • Turn off and put away cell phones and other electronics.
  • Sit in your assigned seat.
  • Do not open new desktop windows or applications while taking a test.
  • Do not use notes or other course material.
  • If you are taking a test that requires a calculator, it must be a TI-30Xa for math students and a TI-30Xa or TI-30X IIS for chemistry students. You may not bring the calculator cover inside the lab.
  • Keep your eyes on your own screen.
  • Talking is not allowed. If you need help during the test, raise your hand.
  • Stay until you finish the test. If you must leave the lab, raise your hand and the proctor will assist you.
  • Labs close at 8 p.m. Students must submit and close tests at that time.
