Remote Placement Testing
IUPUI offers Remote Testing for students unable to travel to IUPUI for standard placement testing. At this time, we only offer the Math Placement Exam as an option for remote testing. To complete the English Placement Process, please follow the steps that are described at http://english.uc.iupui.edu. (Note: Students should follow the steps at the web site before coming to orientation.)
All other exams will need to be completed at IUPUI.
To use this service, you will need, your Student ID Number and your IUPUI Username and Passphrase.
I have not created a Username or Passphrase, or have forgotten it.
I am ready to schedule my remote exam.
How do I know which placement tests I need to take?
All students must take the placement tests in English and Mathematics, except for the students who fall in any of the following categories:
- Students with transfer credit (i.e., a grade of C and above) in English or Mathematics
- Honors students
- Students admitted through the Office of International Affairs who are non-native speakers of English take the ESL Placement Test instead of the English Placement Test (based on the Guided Self Placement process).

Where can I take these tests?
The IUPUI Math Placement Test is offered at select ACT Centers throughout the United States as well as many college campuses using ACT's Compass/ESL software.
Is there a fee associated?
Most institutions charge a fee for their services in providing this exam. However, the cost of travel and accommodations may exceed this cost and be ultimately cheaper. We do offer the exam free for our students on our campus.
Note: This service is open only to admitted IUPUI Students and we can only accommodate students testing within the United States at this time.
