World Language Placement Test:
French, German, Spanish

All IUPUI students who have previously taken a world language in high school or have previous experience in the world language are eligible to take this placement test.  The scores on the World Language Placement Test indicate which IUPUI language course students are qualified to take.  Students are strongly advised to sign up for the class they test into.

Contact the Department of World Languages and Cultures for your test scores, and the Program Coordinator of your specific world language if you have questions about the class you tested into. After completing the IUPUI course or course level into which you were placed with a C or above, you are eligible for special credit at a reduced fee for the world language classes preceding the course taken. Up to a maximum of 16 world language special credits may be earned at a reduced fee.

On the actual day of testing, students must bring a valid picture ID for identification purposes.

Appointments can be made as soon as one month prior to the test date and as late as 2 days prior to the date of testing.  Students need to arrive at the Testing Center 10 minutes prior to the start time of the test.  Late arrivals will have to reschedule for a later date.  Seats fill up quickly, so do not wait until the last minute to schedule an appointment.  Likewise, please call in advance to cancel an appointment prior to the test date if unable to keep the appointment.  (Note: A rescheduling fee ($7.00) is charged to students who do not provide the Testing Center with notification of reservation changes at least 24 hours in advance.)

To schedule an appointment, visit http://welcome.iupui.edu.

The Testing Center is located in the Union Building, 620 Union Dr., Room G003.

Remember to arrive 10 minutes prior to the start of the test.
